- Medications have a common ending of “-oxacin”
- Administer quinolones either 2 hrs before or 6 hrs after calcium ( including diary products), iron, zinc
- There have been reports of tendon infammation or rupture with quinolones, thus they should not be used in children and have a black box warning for this use.
