Q
fluid volume excess
A
- neurological - changes in LOC, confusion, headaches, seizures, coma, cerebral edema
- respiratory- pulmonary congestion, crackles, SOB, O2 levels decrease
- cardiovascular- bounding pulse, increase BP, increase JVD, presence of S3, tachycardia
- GI- anorexia, nausea
- Edema- dependent pitting edema
6
Q
FVE intervention
A
- I & 0
- daily weight
- fluid restriction
- diuretics
- respiratory assessments
- check LOC
- check for edema
- cardiovascular checks
- decrease iv fluids
- raise head of bed
- give oxygen if needed
