Competition for Neural Resources
A
The concept that the brain has a limited amount of resources that can be applied to tasks such as reading or learning to walk. If a task needs extensive neural activity, other tasks have fewer neural resources and may not be as well performed.

Speech and language environment
A
The environment that the child is immersed in, in relation to speech and language. For example the child may be in a home that is very loud (like a Maltese home lol) and may stress the child (me lol)
