Before Start Checklist to the line - Flow

A

Air Conditioning - Set (Bleed 1/2 off, bleed selector MIN, pack switches auto, recirc fan switch on)

Pressurization - Auto/Set (set destination airport plus 200’, auto/man/dump switch is in auto, ensure man switch is fully closed)

Passenger Signs - ON
Fuel - _ilbs, cleared with _ilbs

Brake/Pressure - ON/Checked (ensure you have 500 psi brake pressure min when starting #2 first, 1000psi when starting #1)

Power/Condition Levers - DISC/Fuel Off
Trims- Set
Nose Wheel Steering-off

After start flow

A

Condition lever - Max (when clear and tow bar is disconnected)

DC Power - Off/check to go (if applicable
Select the APU GEN switch off and the APU PWR switch to off, select main BUS TIE to the off position, it should be on until the left engine has started)

Ice Protection switches - STd or StD plus
Bleeds - as required/to go/on

Rudder travel - check (complete this once the flaps are greater than 0, operate slowly, check PFCS display for full travel)

Yaw Damper -on
Nose wheel steering -on

Ice protection flow
Windshield heat - norm
Airframe manual - rotate through fu cycle 
Airframe Auto - fast
Prop heat - test 
Intake doors - check close/open htr
Stall system - incr then off
FO Flow
Engine rating (when CLs are max)
STBY HYD press switch - on
Flaps - set for takeoff
Control locks - off 
HYD #3 ISOL valve - open
Flight controls - Check
HYD #3 ISOL valve - closed
PTU control switch - ON ( after rudder check)

Engine start call outs

A

Capt.

  • start engine #2
  • start engine #1, 1 is clear

(When FO calls “starter cutout” turn off DC EXT PWR switch, verify #2 GEN is producing a load, shut down the APU, if required disconnect GPU)

(When FO calls “select light out” verify oil temp above -18°c and then condition lever can be brought to max)

FO

  • Engine start #2 (verify both start and select light illuminate, at first sign of NH condition lever to start/feather)
  • 2 is clear
  • starter cutout (NH 50%)
  • Stable on 2 (select bleed switch on, select bleed rotary switch as required, confirm Select light goes out no more than 15 sec after starter cutout)
  • Select light out

(For ENG 1 start verify MAIN BAT LOAD is below 0.4 before start)

  • eng oil pressure, eng hyd pump lights extinguished
  • DC Gen caution light extinguished when DC EXT PWR is selected off
  • oil pressure above 44 PSI
  • 64.2% NH
  • ITT under 920°c

24 hour system checks are done when:

A

Safety checks- 1st flight of the day, or if the aircraft is left unattended (during a crew change you don’t see the operating pilots then you would do them)

Originating- 1st flight of the day, aircraft left unattended or an aircraft change

24 hour checks - done only 1st flight of the calendar day.
