- All flights in Class A
- All flights in CAS, IMC or Night(including SVFR)
- All flights in Class B-D CAS irrespective of weather conditions
- When destinations more than 40km away and A/C exceeds MTOW of 5700kg
- Crosses UK FIR Boundary
- Any Flight in Class F

- Flying over the sea, more than 10nm off the coast line
- Over sparsely populated areas
- where SAR is taking place. (Specify times of entering and leaving)
