  • CDL
  • NEF
  • Carry Over
  • Info Only
29
Q

What does the FAAD duty time report give us?

A

It gives us our duty day updated several times each day as things change.

30
Q

Who provides the FAAD

A

Crew scheduling

31
Q

What are all the criteria for re-fueling?

A

Crew member must be present
Batteries should not be turned on/APU switched on
Fire extinguisher must be present
PAX can be on board with the door open (crew’s first responsibility will be evacuation of the PAX in the event of an emergency)

32
Q

What are the 9 items that must be covered in a our passenger brief?

A
  1. No smoking (XOJET only)
  2. Seat belts
  3. Seat backs
  4. Electronic devices (off until 10,000 feet)
  5. Exit doors
  6. Oxygen masks
  7. Life jackets
  8. Life rafts
  9. Fire extinguisher
33
Q

When is new medicals due?

A

By the 25th of the month, a pic sent to training.

34
Q

What do we do with a Letter of Investigation?

A
  • Contact the CPO within 3 days

- The LOI starts the 24 hour ASAP window

35

A
Nothing less than good breaking
Crosswinds less than 15 knots
No SAG airports
Captains discretion
No windshear
No low takeoff minimums
No Landing with visibility below 5000 RVR or 1 mile
38
Q

Who issues an international trip?

A

The International Trip Planning (ITP) and safety review the trip. ITP plans and builds the master document.

39
Q

How soon before an international trip should you get the itinerary?

A

Not less than 3 hours. Crew scheduling will deliver and issue the FAAD and itinerary perfectibly the night before

40
Q

How soon before a passport expires should you get it updated?

A

9 months before, because different nations have different rules.

41
Q

What are all the items needed for an international trip?

A
Pilot's license
Medical
Passport
Immigration
Drug and alcohol packet
Drivers license
Company ID
8410 proficiency card
VISA
42
Q

What aircraft documents must be on board for an international trip?

A
Airworthiness certificate
Registration with Flywire if a temporary registration
Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC)
Customs decal and bond
Insurance certificate
Air Carrier certificate in black binder
XOJET displayed on the hull
Carry extra copies of documents
43
Q

What are the International Fuel Requirements?

A

With an alternate: fly to destination, then to the furthest alternate plus 45 mins.
With no alternate: destination plus 2 hours

44
Q

What are the ETOPS limits?

A

Our limit is 180 minutes

45
Q

How do we avoid a wet footprint?

A

One engine ETP or depressurization ETP must leave enough fuel to reach a suitable alternate with 30 mins of fuel.

46
Q

When do we compute a Point of Safe Return (PSR)?

A

When no alternate is available.

47
Q

How do we apply the PSR?

A

We do not proceed past the PSR without checking WX

Note passing the PSR on the Master Document

48
Q

Where can we find the SELCAL codes?

A

Q pulse will have the SELCAL codes (or the portal), iPhone has our AIRINC numbers

49
Q

What US Customs procedures must we follow?

A

Outbound customs must stamp the GENDECS
Any passenger under 18 must have a notarized letter from the absent parent(s).
eAPIS describes the passengers going in/out of USA
The PIC call CANPASS 2-48 hours before ETA

50
Q

How do you use the Master Document?

A
  1. First pilot checks each way point and notes it with a check mark
  2. Second pilot cross checks accuracy and circles the way point.
  3. Upon crossing the way point the PM adds a slash mark over the circle.
  4. At the 10 minute plot the GNE is checked and a second slash is added.
51
Q

How do you use the plotting chart?

A

Each plotting chart can be used twice with the same trip number.
On the title panel we record the Flight #, date, and teh track message indicator (TMI).
This is retained by the company with the Master Document

52
Q

How do we apply SLOP and why?

A

To escape wake turbulence
We SLOP laterally 1 or 2 miles to the RIGHT
Apply at the oceanic entry point
Must be back on course by the oceanic exit point

53
Q

What are the procedures if you have to deviate due to weather on an oceanic route?

A

If flying generally EASTBOUND greater than 10NM offset and deviating LEFT of track then descend 300 feet. if you need to turn RIGHT climb 300 feet.

If flying generally WESTBOUND greater than 10NM offset and you need to deviate LEFT then climb 300 feet. If you need to turn RIGHT descend 300 feet.

*Turn toward the equator you climb!
