Question 1

Describe The Normal Take Off Procedure

Answer 1

• Brakes—-As required
  (Hold to 55%)
• Heading—–Verify
  (Make sure Heading agrees with assigned runway)
• Autothrottle—–Select as required
• Thrust levers—–Advance
  a. Advance to approx. 55% N1
  b. Chech that N1 for both engines is stabilised
  c. Advance to T/O thrust.

Question 2

Describe actions during a TAWS event.

Answer 2

• Disengage Autopilot (double click)
• Smoothly initiate a pull up and advance the thrust levers to max. thrust
• Ensure flight spoilers are retracted (They should be thought of as moving with the thrust levers)
• Climb at best climb angle respecting the stick shaker (note: sidestick soft stop initially establishes best ROC)
• Continue escape manoeuvre until above terrain or MSA
• Adjust flight path and reconfigure. (SPD, HDG SYNC, HDG, ALT, Gear up)
• Confirm FMA

• “Stall, I have control” (R)
• Confirm/Breathe
• Autopilot—–Off
• Autothrottle—–Off
• Nose Down—–Pitch
• Bank—–Wings Level

• Happy Place (SPD, HDG SYNC, HDG, ALT)
• Confirm FMA

Describe actions during a TCAS event.

“Traffic, Traffic”
- “TCAS, I have control”

TCAS RA “Climb/Descend”
- Autopilot—–Disengage (Note: AT stays engaged)
- Flight Director—–Off
- “TCAS RA, PFD”

• Smoothly fly the FPV into the RA fly to zone
• Advise ATC
  (When clear of conflict)
• FCP modes
• Auto pilot—-As required
