Engine run: Internal engine fire

A
  1. PCLs (Both Engines)-shutoff
  2. Ignition Switch - off
  3. Starter Button-Press (motor affected engine starter for 30 seconds and/or TGT drops below 300 C)

Warning: If fire persists, continue motoring engine while fireguard discharges Fire ext into the air intake. If fire warning light goes on, follow the external engine fire procedure.

  1. PCL-Pull (disengage started)

  1. Confirm fire with fireguard

Starter doesn’t drop out

  3. Remove air source by securing APU (stop checklist once starter is secured)

Rotor Brake Slips

  1. Both PCLs - Shutoff
  2. Rotor Brake - On (maintain position)
  3. Do not restart engines until rotor brake slippage cause has been determined.

  1. Confirm fire with fireguard
  2. APU Fire T handle - Pull
  3. Fire ext switch - Reserve (Main if required/available)

  1. Shut down immediately!
  2. Allow to cool for 60 minutes
  3. Check Oil level.

Fuel Dump Notes

A
  • Fuel dumps at about 800 lbs per minute
  • HF should be in manual
  • Crew should put out a radio call with intentions.
  • set lpcaps to ICS
  • ECS to off
  • At fuel levels of 300 lbs or less in either main tank (600 lbs total) or the aircraft attitude in excess of 15 degrees nose up or down, engine flameout may occur caused by air entering fuel lines.

  1. Airspeed - 70 KIAS or less

  1. Alert Crew
  2. Designate crew to fight fire.
  3. Windows and vents - Closed
  4. Cabin Door - Closed
  5. ECS - Off
    If Fire continues:
  6. Land immediately

  7. Land as soon as practicable

  1. Alert crew
  2. Designate crew to fight fire.
  3. Affected equipment and associated CBs- Off/Pull
  4. Windows and vents - closed
  5. Cabin door - closed
  6. ECS - Off
    If fire persists:
  7. Generators, converters and/or other logical equipment - Off
  8. Land immediately
    If fire appears extinguished:
  9. Land as soon as practicable

Emergency Landing

A

Before landing:
1. Cargo door and windows- open or jettison before landing.
Warning: do not jettison in an auto.
2. Seat full up and aft, facing forward.
3. Shoulder harnesses- locked
4. Legs- forward, out from under seat.
5. Brace for impact- back straight, arms crossed with elbows in, head against headrest.

After landing:

  1. If time permits, assemble and deploy liferaft and/or survival equipment.
  2. Egress helicopter when rotor stops.

Emergency egress

A
  1. Reference point- locate and remain calm.
  2. Seas bottle-employ as required.
  3. Emergency exits- locate emergency release handles, push/pull and jettison
  4. ICS cord- disconnect
  5. Reference point- relocate and hold
    On land: wait until motion stops (about 5 -8 seconds)
  6. Seat belt harness- release
  7. Egress- holding reference points, exit at right angles to the aircraft
  8. Life vest- inflate as required when clear of aircraft.
