Q

What are the characteristics of the law of Mother/Child?

A

Symptoms show up in the mother and/or the child
Pathology occurs when one or both are out of balance.
Excessive mother will cause as much trouble as deficient mother.
A strong child may be well even if the mother is out of balance.
A child that is sick for a long time will eventually deplete the mother.
A healthy mother and child reinforce each other.

Q

Clinical significance of Law of Mother/Child

A

If an imbalance occurs in the element the mother and the child may also be unbalanced.
Treating the mother may help the child and vice versa.

Q

What is the K’o Cycle?

A

It is the control cycle preventing the sheng cycle from getting out of control.
The Grandmother controls the Child.

It exists simultaneously with the Sheng Cycle

Patholgy occurs when the Child’s growth is over-controlled (Cheng) or undercontrolled (Wu) cycle.

Energy moves only from Yin official to Yin official on K’o cycle.

K’o cycle pathways do not generate their own energy.

The path of the K’o cycle can be used to transfer energy from one Yin official to another Yin official.

Q

What is the Cheng Cycle?

A

A pathological cycle when Grandmother becomes excessive in controlling the Child.

Clinically need to determine the influence of Grandmother on Child and Grandmother may need to be treated to help the Child.

Q

What is the Wu Cycle?

A

A pathological cycle where K’o cycle breaks down and the control of Grandchild by Grandmother is reduced and/or Child violates the Grandmother.

Clinically: need to determine the relationship between the Grandmother and the Grandchild where the Child, the Grandmother, or both may need to be treated to restore balance.

A

Do as little as possible to initiate desired effect.

Give simple, clear, direct messages and work with natural laws.

Q

Explain Law of Cure

A

The order and precedence of the natural healing process and occurs:

In reverse chronological order, from most recent to oldest.

From above to below

From within to without

From most important organ to least important organ

~Usually occurs within 24-48 hours lasting no longer than 72 hours, if longer it is not the Law of Cure (skin issues can be and take longer).

~The patient has experienced problem before, if new issues, it is not Law of Cure.

~Law of Cure can show up as emotional catharsis

~indicates effective treatment and practioner can distinguish effective treatment from new illness.

11
Q

When Husband/Wife imbalance is present what does that indicate?

A

A serious condition showing the patient has given up control of direction of their life and there is lack of movement.

Can block clear discernment of CF

Requires priority in treatment

Check AE first as to not transfer toxic energy from one official to another

Q

Clinical Significance of treating CF

A

Patient receives most support and makes most improvements

Treating CF will affect all other officials.
Will change all pulses except sometimes the CF itself.

Q

Level of Treatment

A

Imbalance may be in body, mind, or spirit.

Level of treatment is based on level of imbalance.

Imbalance can be at one or more levels and can show up at different level than where rooted (rooted in spirit bust shows up in body).

Treating the proper level directly addresses the underlying cause of imbalance.
