Q

What is the treatment protocol for IDs and EDs?

A

Normally start with IDs unless strong reason to start with EDs
Insert all needles right to left, top to bottom, straight in, full fen depth with small dispersion action. (If done as Tonification treatment, insert left to right)

Disperse (or tonify) in same order as inserted

Look for changes and remove same order as inserted

If not change, go back and tonify left to right, top to bottom and remove needles as you go

follow by testing for AE in same or next treatment

If IDs did not clear, perform EDs

Q

List the treatment protocol for Akabane Imbalance

A
  1. Tonify the Junction Point on deficient side
  2. If not corrected, tonify Source point on deficient side
  3. If not corrected tonify both Jct and Source.
  4. If not corrected, add moxa on Jct and/or Source.
  5. If not corrected, disperse Jct point on excess side, tonify Jct on deficient side.
  6. If not corrected, tonify AEP on deficient side

16
Q

What is an Entry/Exit Block?

17
Q

What is a split and how is it different than an Entry/Exit block?

A

A split is when an E/E block occurs on paired meridians.

18
Q

How is a split treated?

A

You treat the junction point

19
Q

What is the treatment for an Entry/Exit block?

A

Tonify the Exit point of the lowered numbered meridian
Tonify the Entry point of the next numbered meridian
