What is reliability?
Repeatability- If the test was carried out again, in the same conditions and environment, you should expect the same results
What is validity?
Whether or not the results that are recorded are an accurate reflection of what is being measured.
What is practicality?
How easy the test is to carry out.
Which aerobic endurance test has good practicality? Why?
The multistage fitness test because it is easy to set up and it can be used to test a group of people at the same time.
Why are fitness tests important?
Gives the coach baseline data which can be compared to normative results to give an indication of the performer’s fitness levels.
Gives the sports performer information on fitness levels and therefore they can create clear goals and targets to reach.
Gives a starting point on which to base training programmes and tests can be used during programmes to show progress and success.
