Q

What will be the advantages of having you as a colleague?

A

As a colleague you’re going to find that I am a team player who is willing to go the extra mile to get the project completed.
S: A current colleague was opening a new store a few years back and was being pulled in every direction, which is pretty standard when opening a new store. I came to help one day and could see that she felt underwater and could use my help.
T: Having opened a store before I decided to ask her what she was having trouble with. She explained to me that the expense items were causing her the most stress.
A: I went back to my store and prioritized and then re-organized my current workload to make time to help her. I then called and let her know that I could help. I organized her store’s tasks by expected arrival dates, took over responsibility for communications, and gave her alternate plans when trucks arrived late until the store opened.
R: The store was able to open on schedule and she was able to focus on other tasks to make the Grand Opening a much better experience for customers.

Q

What would frustrate me the most while working with you in a team?

A

I will most likely be the last person to compromise on the original goals for the team. I have always had a “find a way to get it done” mentality. Every option - including those outside of the box - need to be exhausted in my opinion.

Q

What will you do if you encounter a challenging situation at work?

A

Prioritizing would be my first goal. Knowing which tasks need to be attended to first should allow for better overall results. Based on the prioritization, I should then be able to optimize the allocation of my current resources and work on obtaining new resources if necessary.
S: At Walgreens we had a person come in to rob the pharmacy with a gun.
T: My first priority was keeping the employees and customers safe. Identifying the robber was second.
A: Even with a gun pointed at me I spoke slowly and calmly to try and keep the robber calm and set an example while also not using eye contact.
R: The robber left with drugs and after securing the store, I immediately began working on the emotional toll for our customers and employees. I wanted to speak with each person to gauge how they were doing and move forward based on their individual mental state. I was able to find resources to help the employees and customers that felt they needed it. I was also able to give a description of the robber to police and they were eventually caught.

Q

How would you describe yourself?

A

I would say I’m happy to do what is needed and excited about making improvements. Stretch assignments really fascinate me in that they allow me to keep building upon my current skill set. I have an insatiable thirst for learning. Now that my MBA is complete, I have been expanding my work goals to lead larger projects such as Recruiting for the entire Area (Toledo to Dayton) and Pharmacy meetings for the District as well as Inventories at all stores in the District.
