A
- Pre training, all 16 detectives record 5-7 interviews over 4 months. crimes = robbery, purse snatching.
- 7 selected for CI training, X4 one hour sessions.
- POST TRAINING: 24 interviews were recorded by 7 trained detectives, 23 by 6 untrained (3 dropped out). & MONTHS.
Shows development as there was a baseline, individual differences removed as measuring improvement. - ONLY witness statements transcribed from tape recordings. Counted number of relevant objective statements. Irrelevant and opinionated statements were not scored.

Findings
A
- 47% more information elicited from post-training interviews. when compared to pre-training interviews.
- Despite both groups scoring similarly before training, the trained detectives obtained 63% more information after training.
- in terms of accuracy, more than 94% of statements could be corroborated (2 people agree) by another witness/
