First Half Verses Flashcards
Romans 1:16-17
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew then for the Gentile. For in the Gospel, a righteousness of God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:”The righteous will live by faith.”
Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no man can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Romans 3:10-12
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Romans 4:4-6
Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man, to whom God credits righteousness apart from works.
Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 6:14, 23
For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus or Lord.
Psalms 1:1-3
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked nor stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of The Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields it’s fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
Romans 11:33-36
Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgements, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of The Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Psalms 1:4-6
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For The Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Romans12:1-3, 19
Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you; Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to revenge; I will repay,” says The Lord.
Romans 12:9-11
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving The Lord.
1 Cor. 3:9-11
For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Cor. 3:12-14
If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.
