Not one coherent plan, but a series of crude targets.

Reality was that none of the major targets were met

A
- Electricity production trebled
- Coal and iron output doubled
- Steel production increased by 1/3

A
Huge new industrial complexes were built such as the new tractor works in Stalingrad and in Kharkov.
Magnitogorsk was contracted by young communists

What did it succeed in doing
A
Building a new workforce which included - women - convicts - displace peasants The plan also kickstarted industrialisation

Drawbacks
A
Targets in chemical industry were not met - house-building - Food processing - other light industries were neglected

Decline in consumer goods
A
One of the reasons for this was that smaller factories and workshops were starved of raw materials and collapsed.
