When to use SER:
Ser is used for things that are permanent, inherent, or generally unchanging. Basically, things that are part of who you are (essential characteristics), or what something is at a fundamental level.

When to use ESTAR:
Estar is for things that are more temporary, situational, or conditional. It’s about how things are right now or in a specific moment—temporary states, locations, or conditions.
