Amputation
This injury occurs when a body part is cut off and separated from the body.
Abrasion
Injury caused by rubbing or scrapping of the skin.
Avulsion
When tissue is torn or separated from the victims body.
Bandages
Material used to hold dressings in place, secure splints, and support body parts
Burn
Injury that can be caused by fire, heat, chemical agents, radiation, and or electricity
Cerebrovascular
Also called stroke or apoplexy; an interrupted supply of blood to the brain, caused by the formation of a clot, blockage of an artery, or rupture of a violent, involuntary contraction of muscles.
Convulsion
A seizure; a violent, involuntary contraction of the muscles.
Diabetic coma
An unconscious condition caused by an increased level or glucose & ketones in the bloodstream of a person with diabetes mellitus.
Diaphoresis
Profuse or excessive perspiration, or sweating
Dislocation
Displacement of a bone at a joint
Dressing
Covering placed over a wound or injured part
Fainting
Partial or complete unconsciousness caused by a temporary reduction in the supply of blood to the brain.
First aid
Immediate care that is given to the victim of injury/ illness to lessen effect before experts can take over.
Fracture
A break in a bone
Frostbite
Freezing of tissue fluids with damage to skin & underlying tissues
Heart attack
(Myocardial infarction) a reduction in the supply of blood to the heart resulting in damage to the muscle of the heart
Heat cramps
muscle pain and spasms from exposure to heat and not enough fluid and salt intake
Heat exhaustion
Condition from exposure to heat an excessive loss of fluid through sweating
Incision
Cut/ wound of body tissue caused by a sharp object; surgical cut
Infection
Invasion by organisms; contamination by disease-producing organisms/ pathogens
Insulin shock
condition that occurs in diabetes when there is too much insulin and a low level of glucose in the blood
Laceration
Wound/injury with jagged irregular edges
Poisoning
Condition one contact is made with any Chimicles substance that causes injury ,illness ,or death
Puncture
(Wound) injury caused by a pointed object such as a needle or nail.
Shock
Clinical condition characterized by very symptoms and resulting in an in adequate supply of blood and oxygen to body organs *especially to the heart and brain
sprain
Injury to a joint accompanied by stretching or tearing a ligaments
Strain
Injury caused by excessive stretching, overuse, or misuse of a muscle.
Triage
A method of prioritizing treatment.

(Blood)- fluid that circulates through the vessels in the body to vary substances to all body parts
