FIREARM *
S2 Arms Act 1983
Anything from which any shot, bullet, missile or other projectile can be discharged by force of explosive.
AIRGUN *
S2 Arms Act 1983 Includes: - any air rifle - any air pistol - any weapon from which the use of as or compressed air (and not by force of explosive) any shot, bullet or missile or other projectile can be discharged
ACTING IN THE COURSE OF HIS OR HER DUTY *
This includes every lawful act a constable does while on duty and may include acts done where the circumstances create a professional obligation for a constable to exercise policing duties while off duty.
Liability: USING ANY FIREARM AGAINST LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER ETC (1)
S198A(1) Crimes Act 1961
Uses any firearm in any manner whatever
Against any constable, traffic officer, prison officer
Acting in the course of his or her duty
Knowing that or being reckless whether or not that the person is a constable, traffic officer, prison officer or so acting
Liability: USING ANY FIREARM AGAINST LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER ETC (2)
Uses a firearm in any manner whatever
With intent to resist the lawful arrest or detention of himself or herself or any other person
