Firearms Flashcards
What is Rule One?
ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.
What is Rule Two?
NEVER ALLOW THE MUZZLE TO COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.
What is Rule Three?
KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ALIGNED ON THE TARGET AND YOU INTEND TO SHOOT.
What is Rule Four?
BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET.
What goes with Rule One?
Treat every firearm as if it were loaded even if you believe that it is not. You could be mistaken. Form proper habits by treating loaded and unloaded guns with the same respect.
What goes with Rule Two?
This includes parts of your body such as your leg or your support hand.
What goes with Rule Three?
Place your finger on the trigger as you begin to see your sights on the target.
Can you align your sights as fast as you can place your finger on the trigger?
No, you cannot, so placing your finger on the trigger prematurely has no tactical advantage.
What can result in negligent discharges?
Placing your finger on the trigger as soon as you align you attempt aligning it on the target.
What goes with Rule Four?
Do not shoot at anything you have not positively identified. Know what is behind your target and what is in line with it.
