How often do you need to renew firearms license?
10 years for current holders otherwise 5 years if a new license holder or have had it suspended or revoked in the past
What are the different categories of your FAL?
A - general
B - pistols. Must belong to a pistol club
C - collections or restricted
D - Dealers

Within 30 days
How long do you have to present a FAL to a police station upon request
Within 7 days
What ages can you own a firearm?
Under 16 - not at all
16-18 - any air rifle or rifle with a FAL
18+ air rifle without licence
Definition of a pistol
Under 762mm in length and can be fired one handed
Definition of a prohibited firearm
Any centerfire fire that isn’t bolt action. Or any shotgun with over 5 shots
What details can be demanded from a person with a firearm under section 66b of the arms act
Full name
DOB
Address
What can happen if a person fails to give their details under section 66b of the arms act?
Warn them with arrest and arrest if they fail to comply
What powers exist to search someone without warrant for firearms
Section 18 of the search and surveillance act. Allows you to search a person, in a vehicle or a place
What is presumption of possession in regards to 66 of the arms act?
Anyone who can get possession of a firearm has possession. Ie, if a rifle is in a lates safe they also have possession of it. If there is a car with 4 people in it and no one claims responsibility for rifle, it is assumed it’s the drivers
