Where should detectors be placed?
At the top of the shaft or flue like structure
Within 1.5 m of penetration on each floor
Smoke detector
7.5 m from all points of the ceiling
Heat detectors
5.3 m from any points
Flow time
Time taken to get the non trained occupants out of the building
How wide should a fire escalate be?
At least 1 metre
