What is the responsibility of duty holders, such as occupiers or management undertaking risk assessments?
Under Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Regulations, duty holder is required to undertake a fire risk assessment of the property every 6 months-12 months. The Fire Safety Act 2021 made this a legal requirement for the external wall and balconies and doors to be the responsibility of the duty holder.
What systems might be used to protect buildings and occupiers, e.g. detection and suppression?
Detection, laser beam detection or smoke heads. Suppression includes sprinklers, using non combustible materials, fire dampers, compartmentalisation.
