- Tank Filled Valve Closed
- Blind Caps Hand Tight
Proper leakage rate for pump packings
10-20 drops per minute when operating at 100PSI
If rate is less pump will overheat
If rate is more it will make priming the pump difficult
The series-parallel pump will operate more efficiently in the pressure position when it is supplying small quantities of water,
As the desired pressure will be developed at a lower engine speed
Engine pressure for sprinkler systems______ unless otherwise ordered
125psi
Engine pressure for combination sprinkler/standpipe systems
175psi
Two pump operation is written so that a pressure of
125 psi is used by the pumper at the source of supply (150psi when supplying the hydrant valve)
Hose is tested at
200psi
Pump operators in a relayed line of more than two pumped with the exception of the operator of the pump nearest the fire:
Shall calculate their pump pressure using the relay formula
Engine Pressure=20+Friction Loss+/-Elevation
