What are the 4 categories of Found Property?
- Lost Property

What is Lost Property?
When the owner unintentionally and involuntarily parts with it through neglect or inadvertence and does not know where it is
What is Mislaid Property?
Owner voluntarily puts property someplace, intending to retain ownership, but fails to reclaim it
What is Abandoned Property?
When the owner intentionally and voluntarily relinquishes all rights, title, and interest to it
What is Treasure Trove?
When the owner intentionally concealed gold, silver, currency, or other valuables in a secret place in the distant past
What are Bailments?
the rightful possession of goods by one who is not the owner (people who borrow)
What are examples of Bailments?
coat check, valet parking, repair shops, suit cases checked at the airport
What is a bailee?
person who receives the chattel
What is a bailor?
person who delivers the chattel
What is a bailees duty?
to return the property to bailor who deposited it with bailee
What are the 3 types of bailment (benefits)?
- Mutual benefit of the bailor and the bailee
- Primary benefit of the bailor
- Primary benefit of the bailee
