  • Twin Toleration: Religious organizations/ people must tolerate the state in the sense that public policy has nothing to do with religion.
    State also must tolerate religious organizations/people and the clergy meaning that there will be free religion for all people.
  • Principled Distance: No one is forced in the domain of religion. The state cannot force you to become part of a religion.
