Primary pt survey: DRAB CDE + SAMPLE hx
Dangers
Responsive? send for help
Breathing: present? adequate? monitor SpO2
Circulation: control life threatening hemorrhage, check pulse, cap refill, skin color/turgor/temp
Disability: neuro function, GCS, BSL, FAST
Exposure/Evaluate: potential injuries/illness. eval time-crucial status

Last intake and output
Events leading up to injury
Secondary survey
Head to toe exam of anything that was missed or weren’t apparent during primary survey
Tertiary survey: (5 including Aim, when, and what)
*Aim: ensure all injuries are recognized, including those injuries not IDed during primary and secondary survey
*when: w/i 24hrs of arrival
*what: head-to-toe, front-to-back physical exam and review of all investigations
*Ensure documentation, appropriate management and referral to relevant specialty teams for all injuries
*consider the possibility of child abuse or neglect for all children presenting with trauma at this time
