How do you measure seat depth
Depth: Measure from upper leg from popliteal fold to back of the hips and subtract 2 inches
How do you measure seat width?
Width: Measure outer distance of the pt’s hips (widest portion) and add 1-2 inches
WC seat height measurements
19.5 to 20.5 in
WC leg length measurements
Allow 2 inches from the floor
WC seat depth measurements

16-16.5 inches (want top of seat back to below inferior angle of scapula)

Acute care
PT provided in a hospital for patients who have serious injuries, medical conditions, or who are recovering from surgery. Discharged as soon as they are medically stable and have to be transferred to either a rehabilitation hospital, skilled nursing facility, or home.
Long term acute care (LTAC)
Patients who need long term acute care services due to chronic illness or injury. These patients require constant medical attention and cannot be discharged to another rehabilitation facility.
Acute rehabilitation/Inpatient rehabilitation
Most intensive rehabilitation LOC, 24 hour rehabilitation nursing care, intended as a relatively brief start to rehab, expectation of discharge to community.
Sub-acute rehab/SNF
Need skilled nursing or therapy, Covered for 100 days maximum Medicare, limited nursing care, infrequent physician visits.
Nursing home custodial care
Not skilled care, typically after a sub-acute rehab. Residential and for patients who are disabled with limited family support.
