Cold whirlpool

A

temperature range for cold sensation, 32-79, for acute inflammation

temperature range for tepid sensation, 79-92, used medium for exercise, acute inflammation if colder temperature not tolerated

Q

Cryotherapy contraindications

A

Allergy, Raynaud’s disease or phenomenon(Results in extreme vasoconstriction resulting in ischemic pain in the extremities), hypersensitive/cold tolerance (cryoglobuliemia, cold develops excess proteins in blood), paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria(violent attack of blood proteins in the urine), anatomical, impaired sensation
