Final Exam Flashcards
what organ is this?
(and context for next slide)
colon (large intestine)
what structure is this tissue part of (outlined)?
meissner’s plexus (colon)
(above it: inner circular
below it: outer longitudinal)
what are these structures inside dotted line?
alveoli sac
blue dotted line?
yellow?
blue: bronchiole
yellow: alveoli
what is this organ?
trachea
what is 1?
- Type 1
Alveolar Septa is a thin layer of CT that surrounds and separates alveoli
Type I pneumocytes (I) are thin squamous cells that line the alveolar surface
Type II pneumocytes (II) are secretory cells that aggregate at septal junctions (so the bottom 2 arrows for #2 are incorrect)
What is this outlined structure?
Distal convoluted tubule – if the cells are arranged in order with no microvilli. Cuboidal to columnar cells.
Distal straight tubule – still missing a few cells, but fewer cells are missing and they are smaller. A few microvilli.
Organ: kidney
what are these circles?
Proximal Convoluted tubule (PCT) is the first segment of renal tubule and is made of simple cuboidal epithelia with microvilli.
Organ: kidney
Outlined structure?
Visceral layer of Bowman’s capsule
(if the white part was included, then it’d be Parietal Bowman’s capsule, I think)
General tissue type?
Specific tissue type?
General: Transitional epithelium
Specific: Lining of bladder
What is this layer?
Circular layer of smooth muscle / muscularis
(Transitional epithelium of Ureter)
general tissue type?
specific?
General: parakeratinized stratified squamous epithelium
Specific: mastitory mucosa
Creepy Mouth Thing?
Tonsillar crypt!
Tissue type?
Simple columnar epithelia with microvilli (OR w/ striated border)
Cell?
Organ?
The cell is enteroendocrine cell. Organ is small intestine
