What is the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 24?
A fig tree shows signs such as tender branches and beginning to out forth leaves one knows summer is nigh. Faithful saints will recognize the signs of the second coming, like the fig tree, and know that He is near.
What is the parable of the eagle and the carcass and what is its significance?
This parable is in Matthew 24:28 (&27) and has to do with the eagles (the Israelites) coming to the body of the church to find spiritual nourishment. The lost sheep of Israel will be restored to the true church of God and be gathered to the lands of their inheritance.
What is the parable of the ten virgins.
There were ten virgins, five wise, five foolish. The five wise bright plenty of oil while the five foolish did not. The five foolish asked for oil from the wise but they refused and told them to go buy some. The bridegroom came and took the five wise ones to wed. After the foolish came back, he turned them away. This is related to the second coming. We should be prepared for the second coming for we never know when He will come.
What is the parable of the talents?
A lord gives unto one servant five, another two, another one talent. The servants with five and two double the Lord’s money while the servant with the one talent buries it. After The Lord comes back he tells the two servants that made profit that they shall be filled with joy while he reprimands the servant that made no profit because the unprofitable servant shall be thrown into outer darkness.
What is the parable of the sheep and the goats?
After the Son of Man comes in his glory, he shall divide his people as a Shepard divides the sheep from the goats. To the sheep, he invites me intone kingdom of heaven, for he treated the least of His Brethren with kindness and compassion. To the goats he will cast out because they did not treat the least of His brethren with kindness and compassion.
What is the allegory of true vine.
Christ is the vine, Heavenly Father is the husbandman. Christ disciples are the branches. A branch the bears not fruit is removed and tossed away. The branch that bears fruit is purged (cleansed)to produce more fruit. We are to abide in Christ for the branch cannot bear fruit of itself. If a branch abides not in The Lord, it is cast out, withers! and is burned by men.

A discourse given by Christ also known as the “little apocalypse”. It tells off the end of times and of the destruction of the temple.

Apostle of The Lord. Also a fisherman. Also known as “the disciple that Jesus loved” and from Christ “son of thunder” one of the inner apostles. He is still on this earth.

From the tribe of Judah. An apostle and the on,λ apostle that wasn’t s Galilean.
Nicodemus
A ruler of the Jews. Comes to see Christ in the night. Defends him. Brings spices to Christ’s grave. Member of the Sanhedrin.
Joseph of Arimathaea
A member of the Sanhedrin and a rich and faithful Israelite that took no part in the condemnation of Christ. A disciple of Christ. He buried Christ’s body in his own sepulchre.
Simon of Cyrene
The man compelled to carry Christ’s cross as He was being taken to be crucified.
Mary Magdalene
A woman who made an appearance numerous times throughout the New Testament. She was at The crucifixion, the burial, the tomb, and Christ appeared to her after the resurrection. Seven demons were cast from her.
Mary sister of Martha and Lazarus
Lives in Bethany. Meets with Jesus and sits at his feet, something unusual for this century Judaism, he brings her brother Lazerus back from the dead.
Thomas
One of these Apostles.
Pontius Pilate
Roman Prefect. Had a great contempt for the Jewish religion. Christ was brought before Pilate on charges from her Sanhedrin since he did not have the power to relay the death penalty, only Pilate could. Pilate interviewed Christ no recognized Him as not guilty and sent him away to Herod to defer any responsibility. Herod sent him back and fearing a reprimand to Tiberius, convicted an innocent man to death.
Caiaphas
High priest that took and active role in the attack made upon Christ.
Annas
Appointed high priest but was deposed after a few years. His son-in-law Caiaphus took over as high priest. Anna’s held a dominant role inn the Sanhedrin and was one of here first people Christ was brought before during his trials. He also took part in the trials of the apostles.
Barabbas
The man released at the feast instead of Christ. He is an insurrectionist and a robber.
Eusebius
A Roman historian who focused his studies on Christianity. Not much is known about his life. Wrote the the earliest surviving history of these Church.
Josephus
A first century Roman-Jewish historian. Initially led the Jewish army until surrendering to the Romans. He became a historic and is renounced for his account of early Christianity and of the jewish roman war.
Bar Kochba
Jewish leader who led the revolt against the Romans in 132 CE. He ruled the Jewish nation for three years until it was retaken by Rome.
Titus
Converted by Paul. Was sent to Corinth with instructions for a collection for poor Jews. Joined Paul at the conclusion of his first imprisonment in Rome.
Vespasian
A roman emperor. Invaded Jerusalem during the Jewish rebellion.
Galilee
A rich a fertile land. Jesus comes from here. Ruled by Herod Antipas.
Bethany
The home of Mary Martha and Lazarus. Christ brought Lazarus back from the dead here.
Bethphage
A village near Bethany that Christ sent his disciple to retrieve a donkey for him to ride into Jerusalem on.
Mount of Olives
A hillside near old Jerusalem where the savior taught many lessons, including the Olivet discourse.
Calvary
A hill immediately outside the walk of Jerusalem where Christ was crucified.
Pharisees
A Jewish political group that believed in the resurrection and in sprits. They prided themselves In a strict adherence to the law. They also upheld oral tradition to be equal in status to written scripture.
Saducees
A party and the aristocracy of the Jews. The Sadducees did not believe in an afterlife.
What is the difference between an allegory and a parable.
A parable is a short story of some kind meant to convey a message. An allegory is any line of figurative representation. All parables are allegories but not all allegories are parables.
Last Supper
Communal meal. Jesus predicts that one of the disciples will betray him. Jesus institutes the sacrament. Jesus washes the feet of the disciples. Jesus informs peter that he will deny Him. They all sing a hymn.
Palm Sunday
A feast commemorating Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem the he Sunday before he was crucified.
Rabbi
Title meaning teacher. Given to Christ.
Sop
A morsel of bread.
Hosanna
Shouted during Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Means save now.
