Auscultation: listening
Inspection: looking for abnormalities
Percussion: using hands or instruments to collect data

HAVE to have an order, check q2h, offer rr breaks, food and water, stretch limbs
Poison prevention
Never call medicine “candy”. Store all medications in childproof containers
Keep toxic substances in a cabinet or closet out of reach
Always keep toxic substances in their original labeled containers
Keep poision control number nearby
Never induce vomiting unless instructed by professional
Older adults may obtain perscription medications and herbal remedies in bottles that are not childproof
