A 10 yo boy suffers from recurring tonsillitis. His throat is dusky red, tonsils covered with pus pockets, and his mouth omits a horrible odor. He tends to get greenish discharges from his nose. He drools on his pillow, and his suffering is worse during the night. When he is not ill he tends to be a loner with few friends and has gotten into trouble for beating up other kids. He is thirsty, oddly doesn’t care for sweets. He is quite restless.
Mercury
A 12 yo Girl suffers from bronchial asthma. She is thin, restless, and seems anxious. On inquiry she fears being alone, the dark, kidnappers, suffering and death. The asthma can wake her, usually around 1 am and she wakens her mother bc she is so afraid. Her mother says is extremely tidy and organized. She is quite chilly, though likes a window cracked open in her bedroom. She also gets frequent sore throats that burn like fire and she asks for warm tea to soothe the pain.
Arsenic Album
A 7 yo boy developed a painful sore throat of rapid onset after playing outside on a cold, windy day. He became extremely restless, frantic even, with a sudden fever and burning thirst. He became extremely anxious and fearful, and even feeling he might die.
Aconite
A 48 yo old woman has many fears: she craves salt, fish, sweets, spicy, ice cream, and is very thirsty for cold drinks. Her menses is regular but she suffers from uterine fibroids with extremely heavy bleeding.
Phosphorous
A 64 yo man suffers from recurring back pain, better heat and deep massage. He is chilly, can’t stand cold or drafts. He is highly organized, his desk is always clear. He talks a lot about his business during the interview. He is quite industrious. He tends to wake around 3 AM worrying about his business. He admits to drinking too much in the evening to relax and feels terrible when he must wake at 7 AM for work. He gets very angry if contradicted. He has a bad temper. His wife says he is definitely type A personality. He drinks a lot of coffee, he pushes himself. Tends to over heat. Loves meat and fat and suffers from over eating and indigestion. He is constipated and gets recurring hemorrhoids.
Nox vomica
An 82 yo woman suffers from terribly painful arthritis. Her hands are like claws, stiff, painful, and almost impossible to extend her fingers. She has been this way for several years and the allopathic meds she tried did not help. She gets relief only by soaking her hands in very hot water, which she must do every hour. It is worse if she wakes in the night or in early morning. She is restless and stretches a lot during the interview.
Rhus tox
A 38 yo woman developed a RLQ pain, diagnosed as an ovarian cyst. It feels inflamed, burns and makes her quite restless. A hot bath made her feel much worse and she feels better with cold applications. She is not thirsty. The pain started suddenly around 2 or 3 PM. Her RLQ shows swelling, accompanied with ankle swelling. She feels somewhat better in cool air. The cyst came a few weeks after the break up of her relationship and she has become very jealous of his new girlfriend.
Apis
A 38 yo man has digestive problems and headaches. He gets easily bloated and experiences sharp pains in his RLQ. He alternates between constipation and diarrhea. He has lots of gas. His headaches come on around 4 or 5 PM and last 3-4 hours. Eating can help the head ache and he has diagnosed with hypoglycemia. He forehead is wrinkled. His hair is gray. He craves sweets. He is anxious about his health. He hates to be watched at work or giving a presentations. He is afraid of marriage, commitment, and intimacy which has caused him to lose several relationships.
Lycopodium
A 24 yo woman fears exams, she is worse from mental exertion. She has a bad memory, poor confidence, she feels like she is in a dream. She is angry, at odds with herself. She can be very sweet but can get suddenly very angry and then can start cursing. At times she hears voices, once looked into a mirror and saw other people’s faces. She gets headaches that feel like a tight band around her forehead. She has many skin problems including eczema urticaris, and rhus sensitivity. Stomach pain is better from eating. She gets constipated where it feels like there is a plug in her rectum. She says that her step father was angry and abusive, always putting her down, belittling her, and would hit her.
Anacardium
A 48 yo old woman has many fears: she craves salt, fish, sweets, spicy, ice cream, and is very thirsty for cold drinks. Her menses is regular but she suffers from uterine fibroids with extremely heavy bleeding.

A 47 yo male complains of fogginess. difficulty concentrating, and poor memory. He loves adventure. He is vital and charismatic. He pushes himself in many ways. He likes spicy foods, alcohol, grapefruit, sweets, fat, and is averse to beans and eggplants. He suffers from painful arthritis, with redness and swelling of his fingers.
Medorrhinum
A 15 yo old girls gets frequent cold and tonsillitis. Her tonsils are greatly swollen, almost touching, along her cervical lymph nodes. She has not started puberty. She is timid, sweet, and very literal, often doesn’t understand subtleties of her classmates, and gets laughed at, which cause her to cry. She prefers playing alone or with children. She easily gets nervous, bites her nails, and is very concerned about her appearance. She puts a lot of effort into her homework, her handwriting is precise.
Baryta Carb
A 17yo Precocious violinist developed intense 1-sided HA’s, which she describes as like an ice pick in her brain. She gets some relief by lying on affected side. She is a vey sensitive young lady, extremely dedicated to her music- a true perfectionist. She is moody, hard to please, and expects a lot from her friends and parents, getting angry and disappointed when they let her down. She is idealistic, very sensitive to injustices, highly emotional, weeps easily but dislikes consolation. She is quite chilly. She carries a lot of tension in her back, neck, and jaw. She likes sweets but is aggravated by sweets and coffee.
