Advergaming
An ad that goes across the top, bottom, or down the side of your screen when you are using the Internet.
Banner ads
A large board for advertisements in an outside public place.
Billboard / hoarding
Information that people are talking about that is not official; sometimes synonymous with word-of-mouth advertising.
Buzz
An ad in a newspaper or magazine.
Print ads
An ad, which appears suddenly on the screen when you are connected to the Internet.
Pop-up ads
An advertisement that appears (usually on the right-hand side of the search results page) when a web user enters a specific search term in a search engine like Mozilla Firefox or Google.
Paid-search advertising
Video ads placed on a webpage (often the homepage of a major portal, such as MSN).
Online video ads
An advertisement on television or radio.
Commercials
Advertisements posted to people at home.
Direct mail
Non-traditional forms of advertising, in unusual places or in unusual forms.
