Generally accurate language

Describe the main body of the essay and what should be included.

A
  • 2 large / 4 small main paragraphs
  • only roughly 50 words each
  • one para on each bullet point you’re asked to include, relating them to question

Start paras with:

  • Premièrement
  • Deuxièmement
  • Prochaine
  • Finalement

Linking phrases:

  • En plus de cela (in addition to this)
  • En outre (in addition)
  • En revanche (on the other hand)
  • Ainsi que (as well as)

Use complex structures:

  • il fault que (subjunctive)
  • Mathilde savait qu’elle ne devrait pas perdre espoir si elle voulait trouver manech (Mathilde knew THAT she shouldn’t lose hope if she wanted to find manech - subordinate)
  • Si mathilde perdu espoir, elle n’aurait pas retrouvé manech (if Mathilde lost hope, she would not have refound manech - si clause)

Evaluate and answer question at end of paras with:

  • Cela nous montre que Mathilde est…
  • On peut voir que…
  • Elle est…
  • Ainsi (thus)
  • Par conséquent (as a result)

Evaluate using verbs to describe Mathilde and her determination too
