What type of camera shots are there
Wide shot, taken from far away shows character in background.
Medium shot, shows torso, face and some backgrounds
Close up, shows head and shoulders of a character point of view shot shows what a character Is seeing
What types of camera angles are there
Low angle, the cameras placed below eyelevel, looking up
High angle, the cameras placed above eyelevel, looking down
What types of camera movement are there
Pan, the camera moves up, down or side to side
Tracking shot, the cameras move forwards, backwards or side to side on the train tracks
What does focus mean
How clear or sharp an image is
What does InFocus mean
When an image is clear and sharp
What does out of focus mean
When an image is blurry
What does soft focus mean
What a character subject has soft edges
What does deep focus mean
When the foreground, middleground and background are all in focus
What does shallow focus mean
When one part of the images in focus, and another part is not
What does miss-en-scène mean
How to Scene is set or staged
What does composition mean
Describe how things are positioned in the frame
What does colour palette mean
The range of colours chosen for a scene
What does setting mean
Where a scene takes place
What does prop mean
Any items using in a scene
Name the different types of lighting
- Hard lighting (sunny day , spotlight)
- Soft lighting (cloudy day,or candle light dinner)
What does compose score mean
Music written by a composer for a film
What does dialogue mean
Words spoken between characters
What does narration mean
A voice that tells the story
What does sound effects mean
Sounds are added to a scene
Name the different types of editing
Cut - when one shot ends and another one begins
Rapid cutting - e.g. action scenes
Slow cutting- e.g. suspenseful, or dramatic scenes
