- Raster file which is perfect for use on digital media and web since their small file size allows them to be uploaded easily and quickly.
- Compatible with wide range of devices from computers to mobile phones
- Useful as you can transfer images anywhere and it will have the same quality

PNG - Portable Network Graphics
A
- Raster file which supports paletty based images, greyscale images and full colour baced RGB images.
- High resolution files
- Can be compressed without losing quality when resizing

A
- Used for saving documents in a standard format.
- Images can be converted into a PDF file.
- Easily shared

Vector DWG - Drawing Format

- Small size
- Used for format for CAD drawing.
- Used to store 2D and 3D drawing data
- DWG files can be used to input 2D CAD drawings into 3D modelling packages.
- Not good format for photographs

Raster BMP - Bitmap Image File

- Large file with higher resolution
- Good for photography but takes longer to load
- File format allow a wide range of colours within graphic which makes the file versatile.
- Used to store 2D digital photos
- Prevents images from becoming distorted when viewed on different devices.
- Compatible with wide range of DTP and design software
- Pixels meaning the file can remain high quality when compressed
