Extended Metaphor
An extended metaphor is a comparison between two things that continues for several lines or throughout an entire piece of writing.
Example:
In Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” he describes the world as a stage and people as actors, developing this idea throughout the play to explore themes of life, roles, and identity.
Using extended metaphors can enrich the text by providing deeper insights and connecting ideas in a creative way.
