Triple assessment

What are the management approaches for fibroadenoma?
Conservative: reassurance
Surgical: excisional biopsy
What are the 3 main indications for removal of fibroadenoma?
Patient preference
Size >3cm
Source of discomfort
What is the prognosis for patients with fibroadenoma?
Good
Recurrence is likely
What are the complications of fibroadenoma?
If complex fibroadenoma, slight increased risk of carcinoma
