Antenatal care

• type of FGM
• de-infibulation if necessary around 20/40
• screening for infection
• re-infibulation is not an option
• MOD decided and documented

Question 2

Intrapartum Care

Answer 2

• De-infibulation from practioner trained
• If patient has emergency C/S de-infibulation should still be considered
• Treat labial tears as usual

Question 3

Post partum care

Answer 3

• If de-infibulation was due and not done, refer patient back to a gynae clinic
