FFS 2 Flashcards
Symptoms, for example ___ , may indicate the beginning of incapacitation.
incoherent speech, a pale and(or) fixed facial expression, or irregular breathing
If the incapacitated flight crewmember causes interference with the handling of the aircraft, press the sidestick pb for
40 seconds The time required of 40 s includes the time necessary for AP deactivation (if AP engaged) and the time for offside sidestick deactivation.
In the case of flight crew incapacitation, In order to reduce the workload, consider:
- Early approach preparation and checklists reading
- Automatic Landing
- Use of radar vectoring and long approach.
When a flight crew member does not respond normally or appropriately to ___ verbal communications, incapacitation should be suspected.
two
17.3.12.1 Two communication rule
17.3.12.2 Flight Crew member incapacitation
If a cockpit crew member becomes incapacitated, the remaining flight crew member will ensure a safe flight condition. In addition:
- Declare an emergency, explaining the situation. Select the appropriate emergency code 7700 on transponder.
- Plan Diversion to a nearest suitable airport as required.
17.3.12.2 Flight Crew member incapacitation
The best way to request for assistance is by the PA and/or ‘EMER’ call. If the PA system is used then the call shall be:
‘Lead to Cockpit’
[Note Keeping in view the nature of the emergency, the nearest Cabin crew will proceed immediately towards the cockpit and press hash “#” button in the cockpit door keyboard to request cockpit entry.]
The Cabin crew ( ___ for A320/ 321) will enter the cockpit to read the cockpit checklist whilst sitting on the observer seat and shall remain inside the cockpit for the landing phase till chocks on.

SIDESTICK PRIORITY LOGIC
However, if both flight crewmembers use their sidesticks simultaneously, their orders are ___ added.

In this case the two green SIDE STICK PRIORITY lights on the glareshield come on and “DUAL INPUT” voice message is activated.
ENGINE FAILURE AT LOW SPEED (ON GROUND)
Below ___ , the ground spoilers will not deploy and the auto brake will not activate.

REJECTED TAKEOFF
The line-up technique is very important. The pilot should use the ___ technique to minimize field length loss and consequently, to maximize the acceleration-stop distance available.
over steer
DECISION MAKING
In order to help the Captain to make a decision, the ECAM inhibits the warnings that are not essential from ___ .
80 kt to 1 500 ft (or 2 min after lift-off, whichever occurs first)
Above 100 kt, and below V1; very few situations should lead to the decision to reject the takeoff:
5 points
- Fire warning, or severe damage
- Sudden loss of engine thrust
- Malfunctions or conditions that give unambiguous indications that the aircraft will not fly safely
- Any red ECAM warning
- Any amber ECAM caution listed below:
F/CTL L(R) SIDESTICK FAULT
ENG 1(2) FAIL
ENG 1(2) REVERSER FAULT
ENG 1(2) REVERSE UNLOCKED
ENG 1(2) THR LEVER FAULT
TAKEOFF FOLLOWING RTO
In this case, the flight crew should:
2 points
- Reset both FDs and set FCU
- Restart Standard Operating Procedures from the AFTER START checklist.
A take-off is considered to have been rejected if
the thrust levers were advanced with the intention of commencing take-off and were subsequently brought to idle or reverse. The extent to which the thrust levers were advanced is not to be considered as a factor.
