Q

What is septic shock?

A

A subset of sepsis in which a particularly profound circulatory, cellular and metabolic abnormalities are associated with a greater risk of mortality than with sepsis alone

Clinically identified by:
1. Vasopressor requirement to maintain MAP >65mmHg
2. Serum lactate >2mmol/L in the absence of hypovolaemia
