Q

what is the method to making chemical cells

A
  • put a stick of zinc in zinc sulfate
  • put a piece of copper in copper sulfate
  • place a piece of filter paper soaked in potassium chloride solution between 2 solutions
  • connect the 2 metal sticks using crocodile clips and wire to a voltmeter

3
Q

how does a chemical cell work

A

electrons will flow through the zinc to the copper (because zinc is more reactive than copper). Ions pass through the filter paper from one beaker to the other completing the circuit
