King
Top of the feudal pyramid and was the one who owned the most land. He received taxes and rent from the lords/nobles.
Lord
The people in the manor that were almost at the top, they oversaw all of the other ranks too.
Knight
Warriors who protected the manor in exchange for land
Peasant
People who paid the noble to farm and own a small portion of land.
Serf
People below the peasants who could not leave the manor or do much of anything without the lord’s approval.
Manorial System
The economic relationship or exchange between lords and peasants.
Fief
The agreement were land and people had rights to the vassal.
Manor
The land ruled by a king that peasants and serfs lived in.
Vassal
a holder of land by feudal conditions
Code of Chivalry
The code that showed rules of Chivalry. It showed how the rules even applied during battles.
Fallow
A place of fertilized soil left for a transition of crops

Society was dominated by peasants
