- Beginning of development of GI tract
- Neural tube forms, which later becomes the spinal cord

- Lanugo begins to disappear
- Increase in body fat
- Mother supplies fetus with antibodies
- Considered full term at 38 weeks
- Will not stop labor at 38 weeks because it’s considered full term
- Will not induce until 40 weeks unless mom or baby are at risk of complications
