A
Pitting oedema
Swelling of the leg

how do you investigate a femoral embolism
A
compression ultrasonography to find the clot
Venography (dye and xray to see vessels)

how do you manage a femoral embolism
A
anticoagulantion with LMWH e.g. enoxaparin and warfarin
antiplatelets to prevent new clots e.g. aspirin
painkillers
surgery if appropriate (arterial bypass, embolectomy)
