A

dilation of the abdominal aorta greater than 3cm

dangerous- if ruptures can be a fatal surgical emergency

due to weakened aortic wall usually due to atherosclerosis/ congenital precondition

generally asymptomatic

pulsatile and expansile mass when palpated with both hands

stomach/ lower back pain

A

CT Angiogram is gold standard

A

Aneurysm repair (open or endovascular) if >5.5cm or rapid expansion

conservative e.g. stop smoking, eat healthy, management of hypertension
