feminism, the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes.
what do Feminists believe?
-> they believe that women suffer the injustice in society because of their gender.
-> Women need to fight and free themselves from patriarchy
-> women are vulnerable because of childbirth and men exploit this fact and reinforce dependency.
What the impacts of feminism on society?
Workplace: less sexism, nude calendars, better chance of promotion
.Law: equal pay
.Social policy: maternity leave, family tax credits
.Education: Girls are treated more equally in school
.Family: women go work and contribute financially
What are the divisions of feminism?
-> Combines key concepts of patriarchy with Marxism (Marxists)
->Liberal: Equality can be brought through legal reform. Men need to be educated of womens potential
->Radical: Highlights dark side of family life
-> Black: argue that white feminists have ignored position of black women.
