uterus
Primordial follicle?
resting stage, formed during fetal stage, simple layer of granulosa cells surrounding one oocyte, bundles in a nest of eggs.
growing follicle?
the follicle begins to grow and mature, 2 or more layers of granulosa cells surrounding the oocyte, the oocyte forms zona pellucida around itself.
Graafian follicle?
The follicle is fully matured, a fluid filled cyst/antrum is visible in the follicle, and 2 layers of theca cells have formed.
Theca cells location?
The connective tissue of the ovaries
Theca cells produce?
testosterone and related substances
Corpus luteum (gulbú)? function and composition
granulosa cells surrounding the follicle as it matures.
Produce progesteron which maintain pregnancy if fertilization has occured
Role of the uterus? (3)
