Feedback Flashcards
What are the two types of feedback?
- Intrinsic: Inherent
- Extrinsic: Augmented
What is intrinsic feedback?
- Feedback from within.
- Task-intrinsic feedback is the sensory perceptual information that is a natural part is performing a skill.
List the sensory systems used in intrinsic feedback.
- Visual
- Proprioceptive
- Tactile
- Auditory
What is extrinsic feedback?
- External/augmented feedback.
- term used to describe information about performing a skill.
When is augmented feedback important?
When a learner cannot detect their own errors through intrinsic feedback no learning will happen without KR
Define KR.
- Knowledge of results
- Externally presented information about the outcome of performing a skill or achieving the goal of the skill.
Define feedback.
All response produced information or all performance-related information.
Define KP.
- knowledge of performance
- information regarding the movement characteristics that led to the performance outcome
What are the two roles of augmented feedback in skill learning?
- facilitate achievement of the action goal of the skill.
2. motivate the learner to continue striving toward the goal
