Hamilton explained executive power in order to
Quell fears that the president would function as an elected monarch, the primary concern of anti federalists.
Presidents authority would be like the king but in substance much inferior
It would amount to nothing more than the supreme command and direction of the military and naval forces, as the first general and admiral of the confederacy
President has ability to conduct war as he sees fit if authorized by an act of Congress (consistent with specific poets of legislative branch in constitution)
King of England makes final call on everything without regards to legislature/parliament
President can pardon crimes for offenses caused against U.S.
Governed of New York has those powers but can’t be impeached, President can be prosecuted removed from office convicted etc
Two thirds of senate required to enter treaty with foreign nation
King of England has no restrictions on entering into various deals with other countries
